As Daniel Craig says goodbye to tailored suits, Omega watches, and shaken martinis, he takes on one of literature’s most tragic leading men. Craig and Ruth Negga are set to star in Macbeth on Broadway starting in March 2022. The show will have a limited 15 week run. Fans are excited to see the James Bond Star step into another classic role and make it his own.

With Craig’s final James Bond film No Time to Die being released later this week on October 8th, this marks a huge transition for the star. Since the release of Casino Royale in 2006, the suave spy has truly defined Craig as an actor. As this era ends, he has the chance to take on more new and diverse projects.

Craig is not alone either, with some big names collaborating on this project. Producer Barbara Broccoli steps up to the plate for this Shakespearean drama. Previously, she has produced nine Bond films starring Craig and Pierce Brosnan. On stage she has worked on productions like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Chariots of Fire. She certainly brings an incredible amount of experience to the production. The show is also set to be directed by Tony Award winner Sam Gold.

Although there is much anticipation for 007 to star in this new show, it is by no means his Broadway debut. Previously, Craig has starred in Betrayal and A Steady Rain. Alternately, this will mark Ruth Negga’s Broadway debut. She has previously been nominated for an Oscar for her performance in Loving.

As Broadway shows start to make their return, theater supporters are excited to see new projects come safely to the stage.
