Are you a level 90 Orc Shaman under the age of 12? Do you roam the badlands of Azeroth but still have to be in bed by 9:00pm? Perhaps you are the leader of a Heroic raid group and your still in diapers. If you said yes to any of the above you may be excited to hear the World of Warcraft children’s books series!

In all seriousness if you are between the ages of 8-12 you’re probably not reading this article. But I am sure some parents out there have a little tike who can’t get enough of the infinitely immersive world Blizzard has created. If you are looking to get them off the computer and into a book, this might just be the ticket.
Scholastic has teamed up with Blizzard to write an action-adventure series focused on child readers. The first novel is called Traveler and won’t be released until October 25th. The male female team will begin by exploring the basics of Azeroth, and if you know anything about World of Warcraft, you know that Azeroth, however large it may be, it is only a fraction of the games universe.
There is a ton of potential here for a very long and successful book series. With the added bonus that this may be a great way to get kids reading more, I for one, am very excited about how this experiment will turn out.
