Author Casey McQuiston has only written two books, but her career has been on a steep uphill trajectory ever since her first novel was published in 2019. Red, White and Royal Blue climbed to the top of The New York Times bestsellers list, and her sophomore book, One Last Stop followed suit last year. Now, fans of McQuiston’s work have a sneak-peek into the author’s third novel, I Kissed Shara Wheeler.

Fans of McQuiston’s work will undoubtedly love her third novel as it follows the author’s signature trope of high school students’ love lives. This time, we follow Chloe Green as she moves from Southern California to a conservative town in Alabama. Chloe has been so far successful at keeping her head down to become the school’s valedictorian, and the only person standing in her way is the school’s golden girl, Shara Wheeler. But when Shara disappears after a kiss with Chloe, things get murkier at Willowgrove Christian Academy. Join Chloe in gathering the clues to find the school’s star student as she tracks down the others Shara kissed before her disappearance.

If this gets you excited about McQuiston’s new book, you can read an official excerpt on the Entertainment Weekly website here. Much like the author’s past novels, this book appears to have the same quirkiness and loveability. Unfortunately, fans and excited readers need to wait until May 3, 2022, to get this anticipated read. For now, you can pre-order the book here.
