The wait is almost over. After the lackluster season finale of Game of Thrones, we finally have another show to look forward to! HBO Max will soon be out with the prequel.

What we know of so far is that House of the Dragon is set 200 years before the events that had happened in GOT. They have also released a teaser trailer to set the tone for what is to hit the screens in 2022. The show is supposedly centered around the Targaryen war, which was known as the Dance of the Dragons.

The cast consists of Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Matt Smith as as Daemon Targaryen, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, and Paddy Considine as Viserys Targaryen.

It is said that the plot will fully narrate the beginning through the end of the Targaryen reign, culminating in civil war. More importantly, it will give insight in to what had been mentioned before in its predecessor series about what actually went down with the Targaryen’s, which we were sort of left in the dark about.

The source material for this series is George R. R. Martin’s Fire and Blood, a fictional history on the Targaryen kings. It begins with the conquest of Aegon I, and his ruling of the Seven Kingdom’s of Westeros. The most exciting part is that there will be many, many dragons this season, as this was their advanced weaponry and their reason for their ultimate rule.

Though we did not get much detail and insight in to what we are to be expecting in the trailer, it does set an amazing tone for what is to come. We get a good peek at the cast, and it seems to resemble much of its predecessor.

With that being said, hold on to your dragons because I believe we are going to be in for a wild ride! (Let’s hope this time we get a good season finale).
