Former Game of Thrones actor Jacob Anderson is adding some highly exciting roles to his professional resume. Recently, BBC announced that he’ll star as Vinder in the upcoming season of Doctor Who. Yesterday, it was announced that Anderson will also play the lead in AMC’s upcoming series Interview with the Vampire.
The series is an adaptation of Anne Rice’s 1976 novel of the same name. According to Collider, Anderson will play Louis de Pointe du Lac, a plantation owner who gets turned into a vampire. Sam Reid is joining Anderson as Lestat, the vampire responsible for Louis’s transformation. Anderson will work alongside another Game of Thrones alum. Alan Taylor (who directed several episodes of the fantasy drama) is directing the first two episodes for the AMC series and serving as an executive producer.
According to Deadline, Anne Rice, her son Christopher, Mark Johnson, and Rolin Jones are also executive producing the series. Jones will also serve as a showrunner, creator, and writer. Interview with the Vampire is due to premiere on AMC and AMC+ sometime in 2022. Production is set to begin later this year.
Anderson is perhaps best known for his role as the Unsullied leader Grey Worm in Game of Thrones. Aside from acting in other series such as Broadchurch and The Mimic, Anderson is also a talented singer-songwriter, mainly creating music in the styles of alternative R&B and “trip pop.” He performs under the name “Raleigh Ritchie” and you can listen to all his music on YouTube.
