‘Lady Chatterley’s Lover’ Adaptation: Casting Announcement

Emma Corrin, Jack O’Connell, and Matthew Duckett are all tapped to star in the Sony’s 3000 Pictures and Netflix adaptation of ‘Lady Chatterley’s Lover.’

The NetflixFilm Twitter account revealed that Emma Corrin, Jack O’Connell, and Mathew Duckett are set to star in the Sony’s 3000 Pictures and Netflix adaptation of Lady Chatterley’s Lover. According to Deadline, the film will be the first produced through this new partnership “where Sony Pictures will offer Netflix a first look at any films it intends to make for streaming.” Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre will direct Lady Chatterley’s Lover with David Magee (Life of Pi) writing the script. Laurence Mark, Pete Czernin, and Graham Broadbent will produce.



According to Deadline, the movie is an adaptation of D.H. Lawrence’s 1928 novel of the same name. Lady Chatterley lives a life of wealth and privilege. She finds herself falling out of love with the man she marries, and ends up having an affair with the gamekeeper for her English estate. Her lover introduces her to desire and intimacy she’s never known. After realizing she’s fallen in love with the gamekeeper, Lady Chatterley decides to break society’s traditions and find happiness with the man she really loves.

Corrin enthralled viewers everywhere with her major breakout role as Princess Diana in Netflix’s The Crown. Aside from Lady Chatterley’s Lover, Corrin is also set to star in the upcoming film My Policeman alongside musician Harry Styles. Deadline states O’Connell’s most popular roles include ‘71 and Unbroken. He recently finished filming SAS: Rogue Heroes, a BBC drama based on Ben Macintyre’s book.


Duckett recently starred in The Royal National Theatre’s Tartuffe as Loyal and in the lead role for Chris in My Left/Right Foot – The Musical from The National Theatre of Scotland. He’s also starred in BBC’s Doctors and ITV’s Confession.
