One of your favorite Halloween terrors is back in the twelfth installment of the Halloween series, Halloween Kills. During the film’s opening weekend, it made an estimated $50.3 million at the box office and exceeded industry expectations for the pandemic release.
The new Halloween film is the twelfth movie in the franchise featuring terrifying serial killer, Michael Myers. This film welcomes back Jamie Lee Curtis to reprise her role as Laurie Strode, the sole survivor of Myers’ murder spree in 1978. Following years of PTSD, Laurie must face the serial killer who is once again tormenting her town. This time, the lives of Laurie’s daughter Karen and granddaughter Allyson are also at stake.
We’ll leave it there because we don’t want to be the ones to spoil the fun! You can, however, watch the trailer below.
The last installment of the franchise was released in 2018 and implied Myers’ escape from an institution. While this film made about $76 million in theaters, many point out that the economies between 2018 and 2021 are drastically different. For being a pandemic film, this Halloween sequel, well, killed it. And already, the franchise has released the title of the next sequel, Halloween Ends, which will be released on October 14, 2022.
You can watch Halloween Kills in a theater near you or stream the film on Peacock Premium.
