90’s kids stand up! 2021 isn’t easing up on the nostalgic feels and I’m all the way here for it! Our favorite pink dog (and the source of my happiness) Courage the Cowardly Dog is back for an all new adventure and he’s teaming up with none other than the Scooby-Doo gang. No I assure you, you haven’t hit your head in Eustace’s basement. The two iconic dogs will team up for the animated crossover movie Straight Outta Nowhere: Scooby-Doo Meets Courage the Cowardly Dog, which is set to be released on Digital and DVD this fall. Plus to hold us over, they released a new trailer; check it out below!

Cecilia Aranovich, the director/producer of the film, stated, “[The movie] is definitely going to trigger acute nostalgia for those of us who grew up watching both Scooby-Doo and Courage shows, and it will also bring these wonderful characters to a new generation of viewers.” I, for one, can most definitely say nostalgia is certainly felt; my inner child has been weeping tears of joy this entire time. Scooby-Doo and Courage without a doubt shaped my childhood, not to mention how I viewed animation as a whole. As a longtime fan of both their shows, I’m elated that younger generations will get a chance to fall in love with them, just like my generation did.

The plot for the film reads:

Comedy is unleashed when Scooby-Doo, your favorite mystery-solving mutt, teams up for the first time with Courage the Cowardly Dog. The canine colleagues sniff out a strange object in the middle of Nowhere, Kansas, the backwoods hometown of Courage and his owners, Eustace and Muriel Bagge. Soon, the mysterious discovery puts them on the trail of a giant cicada monster and her wacky winged warriors. Fred, Velma, Daphne and Shaggy know that this job is too big for a flyswatter. They’ll need the help of the doggy duo to piece together the puzzle. Can Scooby and Courage overcome their jitters and defeat the insect army before the whole world bugs out?

Straight Outta Nowhere features the voice talents of Grey Griffin (Daphne Blake), Matthew Lillard (Shaggy Rogers), Kate Micucci (Velma Dinkley), Frank Welker (Scooby-Doo, Fred Jones) and Jeff Bergman (Eustace Bagge). Marty Grabstein will also be reprising his role as Courage from the original animated series. An epic crossover with Courage’s original voice actor? That’s a win-win in my book. Straight Outta Nowhere: Scooby Doo Meets Courage the Cowardly Dog will be released on Digital and DVD September 14. Happy watching and grab those Scooby snacks!
