Robert Hardy, the actor best known for his role as Minister for Magic Cornelius Fudge in the ‘Harry Potter’ series, has died aged 91.

Apart from ‘Harry Potter,’ Hardy was also known for his portrayal of vet Siegfried Farnon on beloved 1970’s BBC drama ‘All Creatures Great and Small,’ one of the BBC’s most popular shows ever, and for his multiple portrayals of Winston Churchill. He won a BAFTA for his work on the 1981 ITV series ‘Winston Churchill: The Wilderness Years.’

In a statement, his children described him as “gruff, elegant, twinkly, and always dignified,” saying that “he is celebrated by all who knew him and loved him, and everyone who enjoyed his work.”
