Fan theories are always elaborate and wild, but with this movie, all bets are off. Since the multiverse was introduced in Loki, options are overwhelmingly huge for who will return. Many Marvel TV fans want characters from the Marvel TV shows to come to the big screen despite the lack of recognition of the Marvel TV shows in the canonicity of the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe.

That being said, rumors are aplenty for Spider-Man: No Way Home!

It has already been confirmed that Alfred Molina from Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man 2 and Jamie Foxx from Andrew Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be returning as Otto Octavius / Doctor Octopus and Max Dillon / Electro respectively, thus opening up the field to many more characters from the multiverse. Rumors have been flying (or should I say swinging?) that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will be reprising their roles as two other variants of Spider-Man, in addition to the MCU Tom Holland. More rumors include Willem Dafoe returning as Norman Osborn / the Green Goblin, Thomas Haden Church as Flint Marko / Sandman, and Rhys Ifans as Dr Curtis Connors / Lizard.

There is no knowing whether these rumors are true or not; at least not until the movie comes out in December! People can do remarkable things with editing posters and there is no way to confirm whether some rumors are hoaxes or genuine. One of the biggest rumors is that Marvel TV’s Daredevil, Charlie Cox, will be reprising his role in Spider-Man: No Way Home, marking the first time that someone from one of the Marvel Netflix shows makes an appearance on the big screen. Marvel’s Agent Carter had the first appearance of a character introduced in the Marvel TV shows appear in Avengers: Endgame, when James D’Arcy appeared as Edwin Jarvis during one fo the time jumps.

It is always fun to speculate on a movie or a show before said movie or show premieres, but it’s also not good to get your hopes up too high! A few days ago, Nick Blood and Adrianne Palicki reunited (they play Lance Hunter and Bobbi Morse in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) and Blood posted a photograph of them on his Instagram, just two weeks before the release of Hawkeye. In the comics, Bobbi Morse and Clint Barton have an on-off relationship and marriage, which suggests that Palicki or Blood could reprise their roles in the upcoming Marvel show.

That being said, it could just be us fans clowning about all these reprisals of roles, minus those which have already been confirmed.

Are you excited for Spider-Man: No Way Home? The multiverse (thanks to the return of Doctor Strange in this latest Spider-Man film) has opened up millions of endless possibilities!
