Will Smith announced that his memoir, Will, is going to be released on November 9, 2021 with Penguin Press. In his Instagram announcement video, Smith describes it as “a labor of love” as it took him two years to finish it.

He collaborated with Mark Manson, best-selling author of The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, to write Will. We first heard about the possibility of a Will Smith memoir when he joked about working on a book with Mark Manson in 2018.

Will Smith unveiled the book’s cover, created by artist Brandan “BMike” Odums, at a neighborhood block party in Wynwood Arts District of Miami, Florida where over 100 local students attended.

Along with the memoir being released, Will and Jada Smith are starting the WILL Youth Book Club with there Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation.

“The WILL Youth Book Club (WYBC) is a global community, built around the themes of the book. The purpose of the club is to transform the path of youth around the world ­― deepening their love of reading, culture, self-expression, self-healing, and self-awareness.”

Participants in the WYBC will share in conversations about the book with discussion guides provided by the Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation. Along with sharing thoughts on the book and engaging with Will Smith during special events.

Will Smith also be narrating his own audiobook.
