The film adaptation of Donna Tartt’s Pulitzer-Prize winning novel The Goldfinch has found its lead: Ansel Elgort will play the role of Theo.
Known for his particularly emotional heart-warming performance in The Fault in Our Stars, Elgort is a perfect choice for the role.
The Goldfinch follows the emotional and physical journey of Theo Decker who, after suffering the tragic loss of his mother in a terrorist attack while visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art, finds himself walking away unscathed and clinging onto a captivating painting that serves as a haunting reminder of loss. Throughout Theo’s journey the book explores the meaning of art as well as the complex dynamic of love, loss, and friendship.
