Author Ursula K. Le Guin will join the USPS Literary Arts stamp series on July 27th. Le Guin, best known for her novel The Left Hand of Darkness, was a science fiction and speculative fiction author whose works often took place in the fictional Hainish Universe.
The stamp features a scene from The Left Hand of Darkness in which the character Genly Ai flees a prison camp with the shamed politician, Estraven, as they make their way across the cold and icy planet of Gethen. This collectible joins the ranks of stamps featuring other literary legends such as Nathaniel Hawthorne, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Walt Whitman.
You can pre-order the stamp here in packs of 20 stamps. The stamps cover packages up to three ounces ( or 95 cents) and cost $19.00 a pack.
