James Baldwin, best known for Go Tell it on the Mountain, Giovanni’s Room, The Fire Next Time, and Notes of a Native Son, may be one of the most influential writers of his time on race and sexuality. Before his passing in 1987, Baldwin began 30 pages of his memoir, Remember This House.
Remember This House, the unfinished memoir of Baldwin has been turned into a documentary directed by Raoul Peck. I Am Not Your Negro will feature narration by Samuel L. Jackson, archival footage from interviews, and Baldwin’s own words. The trailer has finally been released and the documentary is already an Oscar contender.
See the film February 3rd!
