Community Fantasy Fiction Horror On Writing Publishing

Have you always wanted to publish a spooky writing piece but couldn’t find any place to publish it? Well, three very popular online magazines are known for getting thousands of submissions that are: gore, dark fantasy, apocalyptic, psychological thriller, and many more themes.


Horror Addicts online magazines have many themes including but not limited to: alternative, goth, dark fantasy, steampunk, monsters, and fetish culture. This magazine does not tolerate anything to do with discrimination, violence, or rape stories.

Their word count for their pieces is 200 to 1,000 words for flash fiction and 500 to 2,000 for non-fiction. In order to submit, you must abide by the theme guidelines and word count, along with emailing with a 2 to 3 line query to

They are accepting submissions for their fiction anthology starting in Spring 2022.

The Dark Magazine

This online magazine publishes gothic, horror, speculative fiction, the unexplained, and eerie pieces.

The co-editors for this magazine are Sean Wallace and Silvia Moreno Garcia.

They issue monthly short stories ranging from 2,000 to 6,000 words. If you are accepted the payment is 6 cents per word.

The guidelines are it must be in doc or RTF format and submitted to their email



Nightmare online magazine is a one-submission-only site.

The guidelines are you can submit one document of writing and you must wait a full week before submitting again. You do not need to email, writers must use their moksha online system to submit their work.

Nightmare online magazine has categories such as The Horror Lab and Short Story.

The Horror Lab is for poetry, flash fiction, and creative non-fiction. The word count is less than 1,500 words.

If you are submitting poetry it can be five pieces for one document, and it must equal 1,500 words or less.

Short fiction pieces are 1,500 to 7,500 words.

Writers must write a cover letter, including their story length, and publishing history.

The payment if the submission is accepted is $40 for a poem or 8 cents per word for prose writing.
