Ever since Stephenie Meyer announced the release of ‘Midnight Sun,’ my mind flashed to the days of middle school, sobbing over the love triangle, sparkles, and melodrama. Looking back on it now, the idea of someone saying that they were watching me in my sleep does not hold the same romantic connotations. I also realized that The Twilight Series has some high-octane moments of hilarity, so I decided to compose a list of some of the funniest ones.
5. “This is the skin of a killer.” *Sparkles* When I think of a killer’s skin, I think blood-drenched and scarred. Not looking like he doused himself in Diamond Shimmer Mist from Bath and Bodyworks.
4. “Hold on tight, Spider Monkey.” While Edward gets points in creativity for nicknames, ‘spider monkey,’ is extremely weird. Not to mention that in this scenario, he would be the spider-monkey, not Bella.
3. “I am hotter than you.” Edward and Jacob have a lot of homoerotic tension that truly stands out against the inevitable Edward/Bella romance. This scene exemplifies this, and Robert Pattinson’s acting here did get a guffaw from me.
2. Literally anything Michael Sheen as Aro does, but especially his giggle. Sheen’s performance was seen as one of the saving graces of the Twilight Series, and this scene truly shows why.
