Attention book lovers: heaven is a place on earth, and that place is Shenzhen, China.   Atelier Global, a Chinese architecture firm, recently announced that it has won a competition to design ‘Shenzhen Book City’, a massive library and public gathering space in the Long Hua arts district of Shenzhen.     The striking new complex is part of a bid by Shenzhen to promote their fledgling cultural district in a city primarily known as a manufacturing powerhouse.   According to Atelier Global’s statement, the facility will feature a façade made of “vertical shading devices” meant to remind visitors of “the dynamic condition …
