Best-selling author James Patterson will be donating $2 million to classrooms across the country, benefiting a total of 4,000 teachers and their students, as a part of his School Library Campaign and annual Patterson Pledge program. The program is run in coordination with Scholastic Book Clubs and is currently in its fourth year. This year’s donation is an increase from last year’s $1.75 million, and Scholastic is anticipating a record number of applicants for the program, which last year numbered over 80,000.
