First and foremost, my intention with writing this article comes from a place of silliness and not from criticism. Every author here should be proud of the fact that they have written a book that’s available for purchase, that in and of itself is an accomplishment worthy of recognition. Writing isn’t easy, but apparently neither is Photoshop. I also don’t mean to pick on romance novels specifically, they just seem to have the most eye-catching artwork. It’s fun to giggle at a goofy picture, so here’s a collection of book covers in no particular order of importance that are sure …
In a recent interview with The Guardian, George R.R. Martin candidly discussed the ways in which the immeasurably popular Game of Thrones TV series has affected him, both as a writer and as a human being. Martin is known for writing at a slow pace, a practice that’s followed him from childhood, but the popularity of his work has put Martin under an immense amount of pressure. Though it’s almost the end of Summer (thanks, Obama), it’s never too late to settle into a hammock with a good book! This week, the former president posted a list of books he’s been reading this summer. We’re all human, which means we’ve all thought about it. This will all be much simpler if we just admit that right off the bat. Keanu Reeves is a sensitive bad boy with a heart of gold and a killer bob, what’s not to love? Marisa Polansky, author of several children’s books like Hello, my Name is… and Today I’m a Dancer, would argue that there’s nothing not to love. Entertainment Weekly unveiled the cover of Polansky’s forthcoming graphic novel If Keanu Were Your Boyfriend: The Man, The Myth, The WHOA!, along with several pages showcasing the content you can expect from this …
On Christmas of this year Greta Gerwig‘s adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women will premiere in theaters everywhere (hopefully it’ll go over a little more smoothly than the March’s first Christmas without their father), and with the trailer that dropped this week book lovers world wide are getting pretty hype. The film features a star studded cast, and two popular actors that Gerwig has worked with before. Timothée Chalamet and Saoirse Ronan both gained traction last year when they acted in Gerwig’s Lady bird, and the director is excited to have the pair unite once again. Image via …
