The winners of this year’s Los Angeles Times Book Prizes were announced Saturday night at Bovard Auditorium on the campus of the University of Southern California. The Los Angeles Times Book Prizes have been awarded for 35 years and are the main event of the paper’s Festival of Books, which took place over the weekend at USC. Siri Hustvedt took home the fiction prize for her novel The Blazing World, which lampoons sexism in the New York art world with a story of a female painter in turn-of-the-century NYC.
