It’s finally here! The much-anticipated cover of Harper Lee’s Go Set a Watchman has been released. People Magazine was given the exclusive, and quoted HarperCollins president Michael Morrison saying, “It draws on on the style of the decade the book was written.” The book will be released on July 14. There’s so much going on in the book world this week! The longlist for the 2015 PEN Literary Awards for fiction, nonfiction, biography, essays, translation, and more was announced. Finalists will be announced on April 15, with the winners being revealed on May 13. Normally one to embrace industry events, George R.R. Martin is taking a break on the bench this season. Comic-Con takes place in San Diego from July 9-12 and George R.R. It’s a big week for book release announcements! Margaret Atwood’s first standalone novel in 15 years will be published on September 24, while Gregory Davis Roberts is set to release a sequel to Shantaram 10 years after the release of the original. Atwood’s book, The Heart Goes Last , will be published by Bloomsbury (UK) and Random House (US) and is described as “wickedly funny and deeply disturbing” as it’s set in a world in the near future when lawful people are locked up and the lawless are free.
