Kurt Vonnegut is back? Well…sort of. Recent studies spearheaded by the University of Vermont have given his thesis for the University of Chicago a second wind. The thesis goes something like this. There are millions of stories in the English language, but they can all be understood as basic shapes through a visual model. Maggie Gyllenhaal is back on that audio-book grind. The 38 year old actress has been a longtime narrator of great literature, lending her voice to classics like The Bell Jar. Now she’s taken on one of the greatest: Anna Karenina.
