Ever wanted to know what your favorite characters from literature look like as police sketches? Well, frankly, me neither, but Brian Joseph Davis did, and he just so happens to have written a book about it! His method inevitably involved some fancy technology that I don’t understand, but the gist of it is this: he enters the characters’ physical descriptions from the book, into the fancy program (a police composite software, to be exact), and they draw him a pic! Sajia Darwish is a junior at Mount Holyoke college, who is committed to improving the library of her elementary school, in Kabul, Afghanistan. Through her self-started initiative, Sajia has managed to move the library from a secluded closet, to an open room, perfect for quiet studying and tutoring. Johnny Cash’s previously unpublished poems are set to be released next week in a collection entitled: Forever Words: The Unknown Poems. It will be published by Blue Rider Press, and edited by celebrated contemporary Irish poet, Paul Muldoon. The book contains 41 poems, some of which Cash wrote when he was as young as twelve.
