The well known creator of the Archie Comic TV universe, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is creating two new shows for HBO Max. HBO Max is an upcoming streaming service for Warner media that will stream a mix of old and new programming. Two of the new programming, which Sacasa is tied too is, The Shelly Society, and The Brides. With these two shows Sacasa is diving into the gothic horror genre.

The Shelly Society is a mix of gothic horror and teen romance, with a young Mary Shelly, that Sacasa created with his fellow Riverdale writers, James DeWillie and Tessa Leigh Williams.
Meanwhile The Brides takes a new spin on the Brides of Dracula. It is a contemporary, sexy new look for the Dracula Brides which will be a family drama with a trio of diverse female leads. These two shows are the first two projects to come out of the overall deal Sacasa signed with Warner Bros. TV.

With Sacasa’s Netflix hit, The Chilling of Adventures of Sabrina, under his belt, he can do no wrong when it comes to horror. He also wrote and co wrote the remake of Carrie and The Town that Dreaded Sundown. Sacasa even wrote two of the best selling horror series for Archie Comics, Afterlife with Archie and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Therefore Sacasa is the best guy for the job to pen these two new horror series.
In the meantime, you can stream The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Netflix, and you can catch Riverdale on Wednesdays on the CW at 8/7c.
