I’m sad to say that not too much has changed since the week before that would inspire a more creative title to call this week’s roundup of tweets, so consider this as simply a follow-up to last week’s bookish tweets piece, as well as the very last piece of the month!

To reiterate what I’ve been saying for the past few articles I’ve been dishing out, we’re all in this together, so let’s not let this pandemic pandemonium drive us apart and hole us up in our homes with no contact whatsoever. Who here remembers the short story “The Lady or the Tiger?” by Frank R. Stockton and got upset over it? You remember how it ended? Well, that’s just it: it didn’t end, even when it was in a very tight spot for the characters through no fault of their own, and that’s what’s upsetting about it.

For those who had to read it in early high school, as I did in my 9th grade Honors English class, and were in any way troubled by how it played out (or…didn’t), this tweet goes out to you…

Paralyzed With Indecision

Now, let’s all of us booklovers admit that we have insanely large TBR piles that we always say we’ll get around to but never do. If you fall into this group, then you can understand all too well that it’s both a blessing and a curse. And… you can understand this feeling too…

So, guess what? You try to push down this feeling you get from looking at your towering TBR pile by going out to the bookstore – or in our self-isolating time right now, ordering in from Amazon or other online shops – and buying a fresh new batch of books, even when your stale TBR motherload is just sitting right there… or is that just me? (BTW, my TBR-books aren’t so much piling up, but rather filling up the spaces in my two bookcases and half-case-sized cubby.)

Don’t you wish that you can see straight into the future, like with no ambiguous meanings to overlook or anything like that, but a clear-cut answer of what was going to happen, now more than ever? For you see, one’s name is the true window into the soul, the same as it is for true beauty to be in the eyes of the beholder… in seeing the name on paper. That is how you meet “the One.” That’s all there is to it!

 

 

We’re All In This Together

That’s because at the beginning of this week’s tweet piece, I was talking about the importance of coming together as a community (though not in the physical sense) in order to help each other out. While I would be one to agree that books can be a booklover’s only true friends in this world, we need each other to pull through this most pressing time, and what better way to do that than with books? Especially those that can teach us all about hardships and how to have strength to go through and conquer them, because once again, #BooksConnectUs, now and forever.
