Why did you start your Bookstagram?

I started my bookstagram because I wanted to share the stories I fall in love with every day. The characters I meet and the adventures I embark upon with every page. I felt so alone back in college, I wanted to meet others who were as strongly passionate as I am about stories. I wanted to feel a connection and I aspired to encourage others to fall in love with the magic of reading stories and traveling from one page to another.

Where are you from?

I’m from Cairo, Egypt.

What do you want your Instagram to bring to the world?:

Inspiration, creativity and empowerment! With every book and story I read, I feel empowered and I wish for others to feel the same by discovering a story to empower and inspire them through my platform. I believe in what Cassandra Clare said in the Infernal Devices: ‘We live and breathe words.’ and I want to play a role in spreading that magic.

Fun Fact about you:

Haha, well as crazy as I am about all things magic I’m not a big fan of cats! I started loving them recently but i have no idea why they tend to freak me out.

What’s Your Special Approach to Content:

I try to post about a lifestyle of reading, capturing and living amongst stories. I post about what speaks the most to me at the moment, what i’m reading and what am i inspired by. I always think about “what do i want to inspire?” and do that.

Aesthetic / Instagram page theme:

Fall season and earth magic. The mood of coziness, being wrapped up in a blanket with a story that takes you far, far away among stars, drinking a hot cup of coffee and snacks on cinnamon biscuits. I want others to feel that when they visit my account, I want them to feel warm, loved and cozy and to feel that witchy touch of earth magic.

Daily or every other day. It depends on what i feel and what i need to say.

What does your Bookstagram mean to you?

It has become a safe place for me to express myself, meet and make amazing friends across the globe and feel understood. It is a place where i learn a lot every day and get inspired by different cultures, stories and mindsets.

Advice for aspiring Bookstagrammers:

My only advice is to be true to what you love and post about the stories you believe in with all your heart. Don’t ride the storms and don’t follow others blindly. People will love you for just who you are. Post because you’re passionate and inspired but not to compete with others.

Additional bookishness:

Rereading books is something I love to do dearly. I always love re-visiting favorite places and re-embarking upon adventures all over again. I’ve been a constant re-readers for years now and I always discover something different about my favorite books that way.

Thank you @shetellsastory for your time! Tune in next week to check out another #bookstagrammer !!
