This is an update on the The New York Public Library closings that were initially only suppose to last until the end of the month on March 31. News came out this morning that they have extended the closures of all branches and research libraries. For now all locations will be closed until further notice. There are no solid dates on when they will be reopened but they did want to let us know that when they do reopen, due dates for physical books or other materials will be extended. They’ve also decided to cancel all public programs until the end of May.

There is some good news though. The NYPL will be partnering with an online tutoring service. This will help provide students from Pre-K to 12th grade the ability to access private tutors. And they are constantly working to expand the number of research databases folks can access from home.
