Celeste Ng to Launch Publishing Internship Grants

Author Celeste Ng is set to launch two Adult Publishing Internship Grants. The #1 New York Times Bestselling author of Little Fires Everywhere and Everything I Never Told You is partnering up with the organization We Need Diverse Books. Together, they are going to help individuals from diverse backgrounds who want to have a career in publishing be more attainable.

Beginning next summer in 2021, interns who work at either a publishing house or agency will be rewarded two grants of $2,500. We Need Diverse Books have helped interns who work in children`s publishing to get full-time jobs.

Penguin Random House will be supporting Celeste Ng by hosting an event next summer that will introduce interns into the industry. Celeste Ng gave a statement to the press release of the program. She stated how proud she was of this program especially since she is a writer of color and mother to a multiracial child. 

Getting the job you want in the publishing industry (let alone any other job) is very difficult which is why this internship grant is very important. This sounds like it is going to be very helpful for many individuals from diverse backgrounds get their dream job in the publishing world!
