We are currently living in the era of cinematic universes. Major studios are always looking for the next big interconnected franchise to rival the MCU. With the minor exception of DC Comics, most cinematic universes haven’t been very successful, and this one looks like it might be over before it even takes off.
In a similar fashion to Marvel Studios where they take lesser-known comics characters and build a franchise around them, Sony had planned a series of films based on characters from Valiant comics. The first two films were going to be Bloodshot and Harbinger.

Bloodshot centers around a murdered soldier named Raymond Garrison who is resurrected with nanotechnology and trained to be a super-soldier. After regaining his memories, he sets off on a quest for revenge on those who took his life. Vin Diesel will play Garrison, while Toby Kebbel will play the film’s villain. The film is set for release next year.

Harbinger centers around a group of teenagers who band together to challenge Haruda, a powerful Harbinger who is trying to use his psionic abilities to conquer the world. Though it was never finalized, Dylan O’Brien and Noah Centineo were in talks to star.

Plans for these two films to crossover were in the works, but now those plans seemed scrapped as Paramount has now acquired the rights to Harbinger. Though the production and script will remain the same, the studio change dampens the idea for connecting these films.
There are still other characters that Sony can use from Valiant, but no other films have been announced.
