The big apple welcomes a little bit of magic into its midst. On Oct. 5, The New York Historical Society’s “Harry Potter: A History of Magic” exhibit has opened up to the public and will be running from now until the end of January 2019. The exhibit provides fan with a plethora of Harry Potter paraphernalia such as documents, illustrations and items loaned from Scholastic and Bloomsbury.

While mimicking the classes of Hogwarts, the tour takes you through Charms, Potions, Astronomy, Care and Keeping of Magical Animals and Defense Against the Dark Arts. Delve into the making of each and every element of the wizarding world. Weaving historical facts and fiction into each and every class, visitors are able to get learn and get hands on in each section, whether it’s viewing their future in crystal balls, swirling potions in an interactive cauldron or exploring the real magic that pulses through the wizardry world. Books line each section, giving tidbits of historical information about some of the fantastical elements that had inspired the creatures in J.K Rowling’s Harry Potter franchise.

Along with ancient text about Nicolas Flamel and broomsticks used by real witches, the museum also carries original transcripts and illustrations belonging to J.K Rowling. Pair your tour up with J.K Rowling’s Harry Potter: History of Magic book, a vivid and colorful book of fantastical facts and photos. The exhibit is full of mysteries ready to unfold, so put on your sorting hat, grab your friends and take a tour into witch and wizardry world of magic.
