THIS IS NOT A DRILL PEOPLE! We finally get a glimpse of the highly anticipated second season of the hit Netflix series, ‘The Umbrella Academy’

The trailer is three minutes long and it gives just enough to leave us wanting more.
We see Five arriving in the past alone on November 25, 1963 to be precise, calling out for his siblings. There is a massive world-ending explosion and he is jumped back ten days before that, where a white haired Hazel tells Five that it was indeed the end of the world.
Somehow, when Five took his family into the past, they took the end of the world with them. Uh-oh.
But where are the rest of the Hargreeves, I hear you asking. While Five is figuring out how to save the planet predominantly by himself…again. The siblings are separated.
Number 1, Luther
![]()

Luther looks to be a fighter of some sort, we see him leaving a boxing ring and taking a powerful punch from a competitor.
Number 2, Diego

Diego seems to be in an mental institution, with longer hair I might add. He’s accompanied by a new character named Lila, played by the British actress, Ritu Arya. Lila is described as “a Chameleon who can be as brilliant or as clinically insane as the situation requires” And has a twisted sense of humor. She seems to be a perfect match for Diego. She will be fun to watch.
Number 3, Allison

Allison, who looks so cute in her sixties outfit, is sitting next to Raymond, played by Yusef Gatewood. Raymond is a “devoted husband, has the smarts, gravitas, and confidence to never have to prove it to anyone. and has the innate ability to disarm you with a look”.The two look to be in a court room.
He is a possible love interest! In another shot we see her holding his hands through the bars of a jail cell. Maybe this season, while Allison is off on her own, the show will incorporate a look at police brutality and Black bodies. That would be very interesting to see.
Number 4, Klaus

Klaus, is being Klaus. And what would Klaus Hargreeves really do in the sixties besides run a cult? I couldn’t tell you. We don’t see if he is sober or not as he is being praised by his MANY followers, but it’s the sixties; Anything is possible.
Number 6, Ben

Ben is seen leaving a car, and we aren’t sure who was driving it exactly. He’s a ghost so hopefully he didn’t land too far away from Klaus as he is the only one who can communicate with him.
Oh, and justice for Ben Hargreeves, he deserves to do more this season and we still want to know how he died. But if we are going by the trailer, they all look a little too busy to address any of that.
And Number 7, Vanya

Vanya is driving with one of the final new characters, Sissy, played by Marin Ireland. Sissy is a “fearless, no-nonsense Texas mom who married young for all the wrong reasons. She’s eager to rediscover what life and love has to offer.” She is also a possible love interest. Vanya deserves all the good things!
At a sibling meeting, Five breaks the news of the world ending, to which Klaus sighs in disappointment. And worries about how he told his cult that they’d have until 2019.
To which Five responds, “We have until Monday.”
Diego puts together that the end of the world is somehow connected to the assassination of President JFK.
As the trailer goes on we see really cool new locations we’ll be able to experience. We also have some new Commission members ready to take on the seven siblings. We even meet Shubunkin Goldfish, codename Carmichael, the guy with a human body and fishbowl with a fish as his head. He was Five’s commanding officer, in the comics when he worked with the Commission and he’s coming back to make sure Five goes through the assassination. He might be more intimidating than The Handler.
There is a quick shot of Reginald Hargreeves, Papa himself holding the hand of a young chimp, who most likely will turn out to be Pogo. The siblings sit down with a younger-ish Hargreeves and Five explains who they are and what their powers are. It seems they are going to him for help or assistance in some way.
And maybe this visit answers the question as to why in the future, Hargreeves, knows about the end of the world. His adopted kids traveled back to the past and told him about it! Or maybe it has something to do with the fact that he is an actually an alien but we don’t talk about that.
I am so excited! This season is promised to be filled with fighting, comedy, great music and some more iconic dancing from the Hargreeves seven. Who’s ready for July 31?!
