Everyone has a go-to icebreaker and Ian Seiter’s is “What is your favorite sandwich?” Seiter has been interviewing writers since he was in grad school, and, with over 150 authors interviewed, The Signature Sandwich has taken on a life of its own.
The sandwich is the great equalizer. See, every culture has a version of the sandwich and we all, even writers, eat them. But where does a National Book Award-winner satisfy their pastrami craving?
Seiter’s formula is simple:
- Go to readings.
- Get the writer’s signature and sandwich.
- Make (or buy) the writer’s favorite sandwich.
- Eat!
Here are some of the authors Seiter interviewed AND their favorite sandwiches.
