The well-known author Judy Blume is getting her book “Summer Sisters” adapted into a limited series on Hulu. Liz Tigelaar is set to develop the show. Tigelaar will be producing as well as writing the for the show.
If you didn’t already know, “Summer Sisters” is a coming of age story about two best friends, Victoria Leonard and Caitlin Somers and the journey of their relationship. The story is set in 1977 on Martha’s Vineyard and goes forward in time to when the girls are adults. Blume’s novel is geared toward adults mainly because of its sexual content. This story is also about the importance of friendship.

Judy Blume will be the executive producer of the show. This is not Tigelaar’s first adaptation of a book. She also worked on the Hulu show “Little Fires Everywhere” which starred Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington.
“Summer Sisters” will be on Hulu March 18. Until then, you can read and enjoy Judy Blume’s wonderful novel about the power of female friendship.
