Former Scandal star Kerry Washington will executive produce and star in a Boom! Studio graphic novel, Old City Blues adaptation. She is also currently co-producing the show Little Fires Everywhere, along with Reese Witherspoon.
Oscar-winner Gore Verbinski will be directing the upcoming Hulu original.

This amazing graphic novel is written by Giannis Milonogiannis is takes place in New Athens in 2048, with technology reaching new heights the city is infested with high profile criminals, corrupt politicians, and the usual smugglers, drug dealers of the new age. The story is about cops Solano, Thermidor and the rest of the Special Police Force trying to keep the city under control while investigating the sudden death of the CEO/cyborg founder of a tech company.
Screenwriter, Arash Amel will be adapting the novel for Hulu and according to Hollywood Reporter Chris Black and Allison Davis (Underground) have been invited to the writers’ room. The project is still under development so there is no news about when the filming will begin. But I think it is safe to say we are excited about a futuristic Athens!
