Rumors are stirring after Geeks Worldwide reported that Marvel’s newest casting calls for a transgender woman in her twenties or thirties. Last week, Pose star, Angelica Ross, tweeted Marvel suggesting her addition into the MCU. After Valkyrie’s coming out and Marvel’s announcement of their commitment to including a gay hero in their upcoming move, Mutants, fans couldn’t be happier about the studio’s dedication to the diversity they promised.
Who is this new trans heroine? Fans immediately turned to Sera—Marvel’s only known trans hero. In the comics, Sera is one of the Anchorites—the all male species of wingless angels of Heaven. Sera ends up falling for angel and bounty hunter, Angela. This queer trans hero would be groundbreaking for Marvel to present in such a large and important way.

Being associated with Thor’s universe and timelines, fans began to speculate this new hero’s connection to Valkyrie’s confirmed queerness. Viewers hope to see this new character show up in Thor: Love and Thunder, which Marvel released at San Diego Comic Con last month. Whether or not we get to see our first trans superhero on the big screen paired up with Tessa Thompson, Marvel fans rejoice at the inclusion becoming embedded in the Marvel name. All that we need now is a confirmation. @Marvel we will be waiting patiently…sort of.
