Yes, you read that title correctly! Not only is a Static Shock movie finally confirmed, but the talented Michael B. Jordan is a producer on the project! I couldn’t think of a better treat! The representation, the nostalgia, honestly the inner 90’s child cannot handle it. My fellow comic lovers let’s jump into all we know so far and do what movie lovers, love to do: get excited!
Warner Brothers finally ended our endless speculation when they announced they’d be moving forward with a Static Shock film; with none other as Michael B. Jordan as a producer alongside Reginald Hudlin. Jordan said:
I’m proud to be a part of building a new universe centered around black superheroes; our community deserves that..Outlier Society is committed to bringing to life diverse comic book content across all platforms and we are excited to partner with Reggie and Warner Bros on this initial step.

Outlier will be in the creative center of the Static feature and for Jordan, a comic book fan, this is an opportunity for not only for some world-building but to be directly involved in franchise-building. Should the first movie spark a hit, a multi-platform franchise could be born
Static Shock was such a huge part of my childhood and was my first introduction to the world of comics. Michael B. Jordan who champions diversity and great storytelling, will do a great job!
