June is always a time full of excitement. There’s more sunshine outside, lots of free time for relaxation, and who doesn’t like catching some extra Z’s? It’s fitting then that June is also known as National Adopt-A-Cat month. What other pet is just as lazy and loves sunbathing like most humans in the summer?

Launched by the American Humane Association in 1974, this holiday is meant to remind us of our cat companions who are searching for a forever home. Now more than ever, it’s important to consider pet adoptions as numbers have risen due to the global pandemic. Shelters everywhere are populated with animals who need a special someone to take care of them and their needs properly.
So be sure to check out your local animal shelter if you believe you’re the perfect fit for a feline friend. And who knows, you might find a new cuddle buddy this summer season! (Unless, of course, you’re allergic. If so, check out this 24/7 livestream from Kitten Rescue LA and admire some playful cats from afar).
