It’s hard to say Good-bye, but Free-form has decided not to renew The Perfectionists for a second season. The show just premiered this spring with high anticipation, after the huge success of its predecessor, Pretty Little Liars, which lasted seven seasons. The series premiered with a 100% approval rating from Rotten Tomatoes.
The fictional town of Beacon Heights set the stage for the show at the town college with three students, Ava, Caitlin and Dylan struggling with their lives and trying to cover all of their secrets with a perfection exterior. Of course, all of that becomes harder to hide when there’s a murder and the three friends are all linked to the victim.

The show is based on the book duology Perfectionists by Sara Shepard. The TV show however strayed from the book and instead decided to combine it with The Pretty Little Liars series, which is also based on a book series by Shepard with the same name. The show even had two actors reprising their roles from PLL, Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish. This time however they’re the adult versions of their PLL characters, and they were mentors to the three friends while also dealing with their own secrets as well.
Too bad there won’t be another season to continue the legacy of Pretty Little Liars.
