In a recent interview with GSN News, director of all things Harry Potter David Yates disclosed that JK Rowling has completed the screenplay for the second installment of the Fantastic Beasts franchise. That’s right, fans can rest assured knowing they won’t have to sit on their hands too long before the next film. In usual Rowling fashion, she has put her nose to the grindstone to ensure we get our fix in a reasonable amount of time.

On the script, Yates is quoted as saying: “It’s just pure joy from the first page to the last page”. Well if that isn’t high praise, I don’t know what is.
This is the second bit of wizardly gossip in two weeks. Just last week, Rowling treated fans to a wonderfully dark animated teaser, that gave us our first real look at Ilvermorny: the American wizarding school, that will feature prominently in Fantastic Beasts.
Rowling has also put out a short story along with an in depth history of American wizardry. Oh, and you can also take a quiz on Pottermore that reveals your house in Ilvermorny.

Yep, we’ve got plenty to chew on between now and November. Here’s to hoping Rowling keeps up this generous level of output, to render waiting time between films a little more bearable.
