Disney’s classic animated film The Sword in the Stone is hitting the big screen once again, but this time it will be a live action story. Bryan Cogman, writer for the TV adaptation of Game of Thrones, is set to write the script.
Originally based on T.H. White’s novel The Sword in the Stone, which was later added to the multi-book telling of King Arthur titled The Once and Future King, follows the story of an orphan-turned-king after removing a sword from an anvil.
Disney’s recent live action remakes, including Alice in Wonderland, Maleficent, and Cinderella, have all done well at the box office, and The Sword in the Stone is just one of many more in the works for the future.
