Filming Game of Thrones must be physically taxing. It’s only fair that the cast and crew might need a Starbucks boost to keep up the momentum, even at the cost of including a coffee cup in one of the frames (which indeed happened in the latest episode and was pretty funny).
However, CNN reports that the Starbucks coffee cup cameo has been cut short. The show’s creators digitally removed the caffeine goblet, and it is no longer visible on the episode’s streamable version on HBO Go.

“I can’t believe it. Our prop people and decorators are so, you know, so on it 1,000%,” Executive producer Bernie Caulfield explains. “If that’s the worst thing they’re finding, then we’re in good shape.”

The biggest mistake of all, as it turns out, wasn’t even the presence of a Starbucks coffee, but the coffee being portrayed as Daenerys’ choice of beverage.
“The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake,” the show’s producers added. “#Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea.”
