We lost a great talent when British film star Alan Rickman passed away, and the loss is being felt all over the Internet. Fans have sounded off on social media, and celebrities – including J.K. Rowling and the Harry Potter actors – have shared their memories.
Fans on Twitter have adopted a hastag, #Always, that uses Rickman’s iconic line from the Harry Potter series to honor his passing.
It’s not just film fans who are upset to lose Rickman. His peers in Hollywood have been vocal as well. Rickman made many great movies, but his best-known role – especially for a younger audience – may be Severus Snape in the film adaptations of the Harry Potter books. You may need to “Accio Tissues” before checking out the touching tributes from his Harry Potter co-stars below.
J.K. Rowling also expressed her sadness at losing a man who helped to bring her saga to life:
The New Yorker tweeted out this heartfelt cartoon yesterday, commemorating Rickman’s work as a ‘villain’ in both the Harry Potter series and Die Hard.
Alan Rickman will be missed – always.
