Zendaya’s latest Instagram post gives fans a sneak peak of Chani, her role in the upcoming movie Dune. This comes just days after Vanity Fair released a first look photo of Timothée Chalamet as the film’s lead, Paul Atreids.
Zendaya is a Disney star turned serious actor, most recently featured in the Spider-Man: Homecoming series, The Greatest Showman, and the hit HBO show Euphoria. In January 2019, she was cast as Chani in the upcoming Dune movie, set to be released in December 2020.
Her Instagram post features two photos of her character, Chani, in the movie. Tagging Vanity Fair in the post, Zendaya captions the photos with a single word: “Dune.”

Directed by Denis Villeneuve, Dune is an adaptation of Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel of the same name, a science-fiction bestseller set in the distant future. The book follows Paul Atreids, the heir to a noble family on the planet Arrakis, where they must rule an inhospitable world. The book has five sequels and is often hailed as the greatest science fiction novel of all time. Instead of squeezing the book into a single film, the adaptation will span two movies.

We can only hope the Dune movie will be as well-done as the book, but these first-look photos certainly look promising!
