Warner Bros. is reportedly developing an animated film that will retell the story of The Wizard of Oz, from the perspective of Dorothy’s dog, Toto, based on a children’s book. It features an older Toto telling the story of his adventures in Oz. The book is of course based on L. HBO’s wildly popular series Game of Thrones recently finished filming its final season, and Kit Harington, who portrays Jon Snow, is feeling a little sentimental: “It’s just been this amazing journey,” he said in an interview. “I kinda said to them on my wrap speech that it’s always been more than a job. With the hugely successful Game of Thrones drawing to a close, reports have indicated that HBO is developing several spin-off series set in the same universe. New research from the Publishers Association has shown that movies based on books make 53% more worldwide than original screenplays. The relationship is reciprocal, as a successful adaptation tends to significantly boost sales for the source material.
