Yayoi Kusama, a Japanese artist and writer is eclectic and eccentric. Her art is full of bright colors, shapes, and patterns. This time, she sticks to black and white drawings to revamp Hans Christian Andersen’s classic fairy tale, The Little Mermaid. A new edition will be added to the shelves featuring Kusama’s work. Andersen published this tale in 1837 and it is much more dark and sinister than the Disney version of The Little Mermaid. Andersen’s fairy tale is 179 years old and doesn’t have such a happy ending.
