On Tuesday, June 1st Lambda Literary Awards presented their annual awards (the “Lammys”) in a virtual ceremony and revealed the winners for its thirty-third year.
The Lambda Literary Awards recognize and honor LGBTQ writers and their works. Their mission is to “[nurture] and [advocate] for LGBTQ writers, elevating the impact of their words to create community, preserve our legacies, and affirm the value of our stories and our lives.” The first awards were presented in 1989.
According to the organization’s official website, the winners “were selected by a panel of over 60 literary professionals from more than 1,000 book submissions from over 300 publishers.”
