If you’re like me and played Marvel’s What If…? trailer a million times, that means there was an extremely familiar voice that caught your attention. No we weren’t hearing things, that was our King, T’Challa, the one and only Chadwick Boseman.

Even though it’s been a few months since the untimely death of the legendary actor and with news breaking that the role of T’Challa wouldn’t be recasted, many fans thought we’d never get another Black Panther portrayal from the late actor. While Boseman won’t be featured in the Black Panther sequel, the late actor will soon be heard as the voice of T’Challa in Marvel’s What If…? series on Disney+.

Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios’ President, confirmed that Boseman had recorded dialogue for the character, giving Black Panther fans one last performance in the role, even if it’s in voice only. It gets better folks; Feige confirms Boseman appears in several episodes. No cameos here bookworms.

Feige states “[Chadwick] came in about four times and recorded numerous episodes. In hindsight, it’s very moving.”

The first season of What If…? will consist of ten episodes and is slated to begin streaming on Disney+ in mid-2021. An official premiere date has yet to be revealed. Even though we miss Chadwick immensely, this little piece of him feels like we have him back; even if only temporarily. Will you be watching?
