Did you pronounce Hermione’s name correctly when first reading the Harry Potter books? Or were you among the many who read it as ‘Her-my-own’ or ‘Hermi-one’?
One fan came up with a theory that J.K. Rowling included the passage in The Goblet of Fire in which Hermione teaches Viktor Krum to say her name, in order to teach readers as well.
Theory: @jk_rowling included that passage on how to pronounce Hermione’s name in Goblet of Fire just to school all of us who were saying HER-MY-OWN like Viktor Krum.

And she was correct! Rowling responded, verifying the theory.
