Why did you start your Bookstagram?
One of my best friends (Alexandra @twirlingpages) had actually been on bookstagram for a few years and was constantly telling me how wonderful the community is! Iβve always had a love for reading, and after a few years of book blogging, I decided to make the jump to bookstagram too.
Iβve always loved how beautiful everyoneβs photos were and was intimidated at the skills required, but itβs really been a learning process. I honestly wish I started earlier because itβs wonderful to have such a supportive community of readers!
Where are you from?
Los Angeles, born and raised! My family is from Taiwan which also has my heart.

What do you want your Instagram to bring to the world?
I hope my bookstagram can bring a sense of happiness and comfort to those who see my photos! Iβm also incredibly passionate about sharing diverse stories, especially books by Asian authors which is why I co-founded βsubtle Asian book club.β Recently, a NYT article on publishing shared that, since 1950, only five percent of fiction published has been by authors of color. My goal is to hopefully connect passionate readers with stories where they can see themselves represented.
Fun fact about you:
Outside of reading, I love baking pastries and dancing. My baking hobby was actually inspired by Lara Jean from To All the Boys Iβve Loved Before!

Whatβs your special approach to content?
I take photos in big batches and try to mix up the angles and colors of the book covers. I also try to use items I have at home such as my glasses or tea cups!
Aesthetic / Instagram page theme:
Pretty and pink! Itβs my favorite color, and soft pink vibes always make me happy, so I wanted to create a feed based on that, especially since Iβll be editing all the photos!

How often do you post?
I post twice a week! I know some people prefer to post every day or once a week, but this is the best balance for me, especially because I also manage a blog and booktube. Iβm also currently in my last semester of university so school is definitely a priority.
What does your Bookstagram mean to you?Β
I honestly canβt imagine my life without Bookstagram or the book community! Iβve made life-changing friendships with people all around the world, and they constantly inspire me every day. Iβm always discovering new favorite reads, and Iβve also learned a lot about the privileges of being a reader in the US, especially when it comes to accessibility. Iβve been able to become friends with other passionate readers, authors, and publishers.

Favorite Bookstore:
Vromanβs Bookstore in Los Angeles! I also love shopping online at bookshop.org and buying audiobooks from libro.fm.
Who would you have supply you with a lifetime of books?
If I could only read books recommended by one person for the rest of my life, itβd be Lily @sprinklesofdreamsxΒ – whoβs my Taiwanese blogging sis! Lily is the most critical reviewer I know, and I always trust her reviews and recommendations 100%. If she says a book is good, itβs guaranteed to be my next favorite.
Author to take a selfie with:
R.F. Kuang because sheβs honestly an ~inspiration~, or Chloe Gong because weβre both incredibly chaotic. I actually had the chance to interview them both on my booktube!

Favorite book cover:
Always Never Yours by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegmund-Broka!
Book you have claimed to have read that you didnβt:
None!
When did you know you had made it as a Bookstagrammer?
I definitely fangirled when I hit 10K and got the swipe-up feature, but to be honest, I still have a lot to learn. There are days when I love my feed and days when I think itβs terrible. I also still need to learn how to make reels which Iβve been avoiding….

Favorite fandoms:
The Poppy War, Percy Jackson, and Shadowhunters… the memes are *chefβs kiss*.
Advice for aspiring Bookstagrammers:
1) Start now! You donβt need a fancy camera, tons of books, or extravagant props to share your thoughts in this community. I still use my iPhone to take photos, and I edit in Adobe Lightroom. You can use the inside of paperbacks for props, and my friend, Rain, wrote a great blog post on how to edit digital covers into your bookstagram photos.
2) Donβt be afraid to engage with others! Your voice matters, and we love hearing what you have to say. Iβm still friends with some of the earliest creators that I interacted with.
3) Find your balance. Social media can be overwhelming, and itβs easy to get swept up by how fast everything moves. The friendships you make mean significantly more than the number of likes or followers you have. Itβs okay to take breaks!

Additional bookishness:
Outside of bookstagram, you can find me on my blog, booktube, Twitter, or Goodreads!
