Marvel can take my money forever, and so can Disney. The Disney+ streaming service will host many highly anticipated follow-up series to Avengers: Endgame, the most exciting one probably being The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Deadline reports that Kari Skogland (Sons of Liberty, The Handmaid’s Tale, NOS4A2, The Punisher) will direct all six episodes of the upcoming miniseries. In addition to Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan returning as the titular characters, Captain America: Civil War’s Emily Van Camp and Daniel Bruhl are in talks to reprise their roles as Sharon Carter and Baron Zemo as well.
We’re essentially getting a TV series-length continuation of Civil War, where Sam and Bucky will once again battle Zemo, who will likely try to keep the Avengers from re-establishing themselves in the wake of Endgame.
Skogland’s directorial duties are particularly exciting. Aside from her obvious qualifications, the fact that she’s directing the entire series means that we’ll be presented with a more streamlined and consistent vision that’s comparable to a six-hour film.

Endgame concluded on an exceptionally satisfying note, and left many fans eager to see what happens next, especially now that Sam/Falcon is the new Captain America.
While I personally would have loved to see Bucky/Winter Soldier inherit the shield, there’s no question that the MCU’s Sam Wilson is more deserving, after being loyal to Cap to an almost unreasonable extent (how many people commit war crimes for someone they’ve known for a couple years?) and never failing to cover his left on the battlefield.

Maybe we’ll even see some of super-star writer Rick Remender’s All-New Captain America, Sam Wilson’s Captain America comic debut, influence the TV series screenplay being written by Malcolm Spellman (Empire).
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is set to arrive in August 2020.
